Default Low cost front suspension help!

Okay. i am going to get rid of my 3/4 ton diesel cuz i can no longer afford it.

My 66 coupe is going to be my full time ride. The steering and the front suspension have gone to the classic car gods. I need to bring new lfe to it but i am hating the Bank of America bill pay right now. it sucked up all my cash.
Luckely I have a little room on the card for the project.

I purchased Daze perches and template for the drop. I am ordered new tie rod ends and a new power steering pump. Here is what i need:

new front springs , or to cut mine ( i am wondering if i cut them wont they still be soft, it will ride lower but wont inprove handeling, correct? )

i need shocks, are the kyb's fine for a daily driver?

i need upper control arms too. i was going to get factory replacements.

I also have the export brace and the monte carlo bar.

Is there anything else not here that i should do while it is apart this weekend?

SO MUCH FOR BEING SELF EMPLOYED. I WISH I HAD A 9-5 ER WITH A PAYCHECK. GOTTA LOVE THE LIBS!

I have some KYB Gas A Just, I like them although some people may think they are a little stiff. Yeah, if you cut the coils it will just drop the ride height, if you want to stiffen the suspension you would need to pick up a set of coils with a different rate.

KYB makes a low pressure shock that is supposed to be a slightly better than stock replacement and is designed for a daily driver. They are also cheaper than the Gas A Just. They are $22 at NPD.

I don't know how well they work but I will probably replace mine with them.

Having recently (2 weeks ago) done basically what you're doing, here's what I'd recommend:

Stock UCA's. Make sure you pick up some 90* zerk fittings for the bushing caps so you can grease them after they're installed. Also make sure you torque them down with the car on the ground at proper ride height.

1" drop 560lb springs from Open Tracker. I considered cutting my coils (which does increase spring rate, btw) until I realized that Opentracker sells these springs for $80. They're actually Mustangs Plus springs, but I didn't see them in the M+ catalog.

15/16" front sway bar.

This is the setup I'm running (including the roller perches and UCA drop), and I absolutely love it. World of difference from the old stock setup. You'll be happy
