Yup, I heard it adds like 15 horses by running directionals the opposite way. Something about the venturi effect, I dunno it's science...

As you can see the car is FAR from drivable, so I probably had them off monkeying with something and put them on backwards. Oops. Good lookin out though.

Just measured the engine and put 90% of the car back together. I am right at 3 degrees on the angle of the engine/transmisison. I am a happy camper.

This thread deserves 5 stars! Needs more pics, but very good information!

EFIvert, did you use the same driveshaft as the T5? If you dont mind me asking what is the total length on the DS with the T56 swap?

Just did a TKO 600 swap in mine. No cutting or hammering required. It has a fair bit to do with the crossmember and engine mounts I think. I used the TKO swap crossmember from Modern Driveline. It sits a bit low, so you might need lower or adjustable engine mounts to get the pinon angle correct. It fits REALLY nicely though.

As for a bellhousing, Quicktime makes a REALLY nice steel SFI housing for TREMEC transmissions, but it's about $450. You can actually pull the trans, bellhousing, clutch and flywheel without removing the LT headers. It fits easier than the stock housing.

Did your guys T56's not come with a shifter? The TKO's come with a badass Hurst short throw.

I tried taking some pictures while I was lying under the car but they didn't turn out well. I have to take the car down to the shop I use for some stuff to weld the muffler hangers back on and will take some pictures at that time.

I had to shorten the drive shaft about 1" from when I had the T5 in there. IIRC it is about 58 1/2" from center of u-joint to center of u-joint on the shaft.

The T56 did come with a shifter but it is like the stock T5 shifter. I could have lived with it but I wanted to take care of everything in one effort. I can't stand saying "I wish I would have then because it would have been much easier." I have learned the hard way to many times. The shifter on the TKO's are much nicer but IIRC they still don't have stops like most of the aftermarket ones do.
