block is a 79, and you only want to bore it enough to clean it up. usually .030 if its currently std bore

It would be a good time to stroke that mill as well...
The extra $$$ would not break the bank IMO.

Anyway, .030 rebuild, grind the crank, maybe afr185 and a nice cam with some headers and a better intake/carb combo and you will have a beefy fun motor. If you aren't too overkill on the cam you could also just clean up the stock heads and still have a fun ride. My first 67 mustang had a simply 351w with headers, cam, intake and a 4:11 rear...it was a blast to drive.

Yep.
408 will fill that .030 bore quite nicely...
I'm gonna jump back to restore my 68 fastback after the Rod Run, so I'm contemplating a big bore mill to put in the engine bay of that car.
I'm thinking a World motor 427 or similar, I ain't playing...

the transmission number .you list seems to be from the pump.
check the main body for number and casting date, might give you more info.
