Default Electric fan swap Q's

I have a 67 with a 289... I want to run an electric fan but wanted some input. Searching past threads I see people running an e.fan off of a Ford Taurus. Do you guys recommend this? What years are commonly used? If I get one from a junkyard what other parts do I need for this conversion?

If you recommend a New Electric fan... what brands are popular and which will fit? What CFM do I need to run?

There are lots of electric fans in the boneyard. Lots of cars had them as stock equipment. Which one to pick? Always get one from a vehicle that had an engine at least as big as yours, if not bigger. So look at late model mustangs, lincolns, caddies, etc.

For aftermarket, Spal and Black Magic seem to be about the best. Lots of people have good luck with them.

You want the biggest fan you can get. Measure the shroud opening, and then get a fan that big.

the taurus flows a little less than the Mark 8 fan the mark 8 flows int he neighbor hood of 4000cfm not bad for a 20 junkyard fan. you will also want to get a high amp alternator the taurus/94-95 stang can be adapted and are 130 amp
