Side Mirror Placement
Yeah I can only imagine what it is like to do that hope and pray with basically a horizontal rear window.
But I am going to try to go with the correct mirrors, the looks don't really bother me, I do agree the round ones do look better but I would rather avoid the "You're using the incorrect mirror," comments. They get annoying quick.

Alright. I guess I will play around with the placement, mock it up before I do any drilling and see how things work out. Thank god I really don't care terribly much for this paint job. Hopefully it will be going away soon.
The factory RH mirror for my 69 was slightly convex. It didn't have the warning about "Objects may appear closer...etc" but it was, in fact, convex. When I replaced the mirror after getting sideswiped the replacement mirror was regular flat. It was supposedly the exact same mirror as NOS, and even had the same very slight point on the sides, but it was not convex.
The RH mirror in any Mustang may have replacement glass, also not being convex.
I bought a $2 3" round convex mirror at the auto parts store and stuck it on my RH mirror, otherwise, it's useless. It works great. If there's a car in the blind spot, it won't show in the RV mirror, so the RH mirror really comes in handy.
Anyway, aren't we all going fast enough that it doesn't matter, lol?
