Default Air Conditioning

Anyone ever pull apart their original air conditioning lines? I evacuated my system and opened the line with the sight glass at the quick disconnect. I was expecting to see a rubber o-ring in the quick disconnect, however I did not.

I know with modern systems you want to replace the old rubber O-rings with green seals made of???

I don't think that quick disconnects use o-rings...

No, I have never done that John. There are so many EPA laws out there that I just did not feel comfortable letting it loose in the air.
