Default How much for rust patch work?

Ive got some rust below the rear window in the corners and at the bottom of the drip rail on the roof. Whats a ballpark price to have something like this fixed?

Really depends on the extend of the rust, you may just be able to wire brush the rust off, MIG weld the pinholes and grind it down. If it's worse it could get more expensive, especially if the panel needs to be patched or replaced. Pictures would be a real help.

its a car I am interested in buying so I dont have any good pics. Its more extensive than just pin holes. Its about a dime size hole at the bottom of the rear window. Its near the crease on that rear section below the window so Im not sure if it will be easiest to replace that panel or patch it. Am I looking at like $500 for something like that? less? more? I know body shops are very different and once place can charge you $2k while another will chage $1k for better work. Ive just never dealt with patching rust before.

Is the rust on the quarter panel or just the panel between the windsheild and the trunk lid? If it's just on that panel it would be relatively cheap, you can get a repop panel for about $70, if it's on the quarter panel that could be expensive if it's a fastback. I've done all the bodywork myself so far so I can't give you a dollar estimate, but to replace the panel between the window and trunk shouldn't take more than 4 hours, probably less.

Just make sure there isn't any rust in the cowl, frame rails, floors, etc.

the owner says there isnt any rust anywhere else but I havent gone to look at it. It is only on that rear panel between the trunk and rear window but its right at the joint with the quarter panel so Im hoping the panel can just be replaced without having to mess with the quarter panel, since you cant really weld to rust if there is some on the quarter. There is also some on the quarter section of the roof. Can that just be cut out and replaced or is it more extensive than that? thanks for the help
