How do I get the wiper bases off

It is.. Even with everything else removed from behind the dash its still a pita to reach and get to. It is a great time to replace the seals and even the wiper motor though if you do remove it. If the motor goes a year from now you'll curse yourself for not doing it now!

Wiper motors are a bitch to remove because they were never designed to be replaced. I had similar fun and games removing the quarter panel ornament for the same reason. I had to dismantle the entire rear quarter window regulator just to get at the bolts.

Ive seen literally dozens of 65-68 Mustangs painted with masked wiper motors and they came out great.

The only prob was when the little indentation near the shaft was not sanded properly (it's hard to get your fingers in there). Paint will crack there first if water can seep under the edge. Take the time to sand properly and it won't be a prob.

Remember, when your glued-in windows need repair, 69 wont be the greatest year you can think of, lol. Every year has at least one F'd up part.
