engine combo that i think would work?

interesting engine combo i thought of....
this may seem weird but i dont see why it wouldnt work...
289 block-stock .030 over
255 crank (3.0 stroke)
stock 289 rods (5.155 length)

that would equal to 7.921
the deck height on a 289 is 8.206
so thats .3 under the hole, could i get it decked to get it closer?
aussie 2v closed heads
not sure on cam yet?
any thoughts?
