Default Shoe Guide (Anchor Pin) Plate

I am putting the 10" drum brakes back together on my 1966 mustang. Some pictures have the shoe guide (anchor pin) plate and some do not. I also notice CJ Pony Parts sells the shoe guide (anchor pin) plate. I am confused as to whether the car is supposed to have them. Thanks.

I would use them. They are less than 2 bux and will keep the shoes aligned.

the one item that helped my 66 allot, was to fill in the nicks and gouges in the backplate feet that the shoes ride on, with weld, then file them flat. over the years the shoe would gouge and nick the backing plate surface preventing the shoes from moving smoothly.

I ordered and tried the anchor pin plates. They would not fit on my car with 10" drum brakes. Hole in middle is to small and whole piece is small for 10" barkes. As best as I can determine they are for nine inch brakes. 10" brakes did not use them.
