Default whats the difference between 4bbl and 2bbl

Im thinking of changing the intake manifold since its old and would be a bitch to get it looking nice. I then thought to get a 4bbl manifold and buy a new carb. would this make a difference in horsepower and throttle response?

I think it was worth about 25 HP to step up from the 2bbl to the base 4bbl as the engines were originally delivered. A properly-sized 4bbl on an efficient manifold might also get you slightly better fuel economy (as long as you stay out of the secondaries, anyway).

It would help alot. You would notice the difference as soon as the secondaries open up!

it would kill gas milage if and when u dig into your secondaries but will give u much better response and add horsepower make sure you dont get a carb that dumps too much fuel though i recomend a 650 cfm becase my friend bought a 750 cfm and when he floors it it floods the engine LMFAO! ( he has a 67 289) good luck

Before anyone can really tell you what the difference is between 2v and 4v setups...it would help to know what motor...there is an assumption so far I believe that you have a 289/302/351w family motor. If this is not the case, the differences might be more than just a manifold.

if its a 302 go with a 600, if its a 351 you could use a 650

Is the motor stock? If so, no more than 500cfm needed IMO.

Gas mileage won't before any worse unless you got a lead foot.
