1964.5 vert worth?
Hi all,
While on a trip this holiday I heard from a fellow I was talking to about Mustangs that he knew of a 1964.5 vert with less than 50k on it for 12k. I will be going to see the car soon but was wanting some imput as to the value. He said it was Guardsman blue with white top and white interior. He did walk around the car and said it in "very" good condition. That is all I know. Not sure if the drive train is original.
Thx, Walt

I agree-- there is always demand for a vert regardless of engine. I got mine a yr and a half ago for 13k-- no rust, runs well, V8. Needed interior, engine compartment detail and tranny rebuild.
I saw a '65 vert in this area not so long ago sell for $20k but that car was a totally perfect car.
Several months back I bought some exhaust off a guy across town...he was redoing a vert for a client and they had paid $15k for that car because the metal on the car was good and the first thing they did was strip it to do all kinds of mods to it to make it a daily driver....that car was seriously BA by the way and they weren't totally done with it when I saw it.
On the flip side, locally there was a '67 vert for sale on Craig's list a couple of weeks ago for about $8k, but it had the I6 motor and needed some TLC but it would drive, etc. I seriously considered buying it just to fix it up a little and sell it but then decided there wasn't enough margin in it to make it worth the time.

Agree with the other posts and would like to add that the 64.5 thing is not in vogue like it once was.
Now modded cars can command as much as original, even early cars.
BTW, less than 50K has to be well documented or it means nothing. So it all comes down to condition, maybe motor.
