Default '72 Fastback value?

I have a good friend that is looking to sell her '72 Mustang here locally in Maine. I am a Mopar guy, and not too well versed on it's current value. It is a '72 Fastback with the 351c 2v engine, and auto tranny. Car had been repainted years ago, but sat outside for a couple years and has some weathering. It needs a buffing in order to shine again. This car was her summertime daily driver as it ran and drove fine when parked. We tried to start it this past summer for the 1st time in a couple years, and now the starter won't engage.

Anyone have suggestions for current market value? Maybe a basic price range?

Thank you,

Steve

Depends on a lot like whats really wrong with it any rust etc etc.A normal sports roof 3k to 6k range but if its a mach1 its worth a little more. The common places for rust on that is the cowl vent which you got to look up under the dash to see or pour water in it.If the water comes out in the floor its rusted out.The lower half of the back window on those will rust out gotta pop the lower trim off to look or look inside the trunk.Rear wheel wells floor pan and frame rails check everything under it for rust.O yeah does it have the fold down rear seat or the normal one.
