Default Door handle removal

I am trying to remove my door handles and I am having problems seeing what kind of clip is holding lock actuating link (rod).

I have the 2 screws taken off that is holding the handle to the body and I guess it is just this rod that is keeping me from getting the handle off. Any ideas?

Thank you.

There is a snap on metal clip that needs to be moved to the side.
Usually, you do this first, then loosen the handle...

Looks something like this:

The tab sticking up in the picture gets pushed back and down. That allows the rod to come out of the lock.

I just went through that it took me a while to get it done. My clips were metal. I got them to snap off by insterting a flat screwdriver between the clip and the rod and twisting. I am not looking forward to putting them back on.
