Why in the world would you switch out a 4 speed for an auto?

LOL, I was expecting that, ive gotten lazy in my old age and dont want to deal with a 4 speed during my commutes, full time school and full time work and a heavy clutch pedal and a lack of power steering dont work for me, since this car is my daily driver and not just a weekend warrior I wont have the time to run it on the weekends and fix it during the week (very common with hot rods). Lots of little things.

You could list it down below on the main board in the Private For Sale/Trade Items section to see if you can hook up with a member who wants to go the other way. Or you could give it to me for free, so I can replace my 3 speed. Or list it on Ebay, and it will be gone in a nano second. There are also lots of C4's that get listed on Ebay for you to buy. My suggestion though, is to buy yourself a beater car to get to work, and preserve the Mustang as it is.

If you are going from a manual to an auto, first thing you need to do is remove your pedals and send me an e-mail so I can buy them off of you (if you're a 64-66). Then get an auto pedal setup (I think you just need to switch out the pedal arm, the brackets are the same). You need an AOD cross member (If that's the way you're going), an AOD or C4 yoke, flex plate, tranny, shifter, and the downshift cable that goes to the carb. It's not that difficult of a swap, probably best if you go to a yard and pull everything yourself. If you're doing the C4 swap, it will be a little easier but not worth it IMO. Any other ?'s?

Soaring, I took a look at ebay and never heard of any of the companies that are rebuilding them does anyone know about them? Their was a couple on there.

TBI - thanks for the info!! I have a 67, so the pedals wont work. You mentioned that the C4 is an easier swap but not worth it are you talking about the swap from manual to auto in general? Ive heard a good opinion of autos- precise shifts, driveability and such but its pretty common to get the whole your not a man if you dont have a manual or you can romp and stomp better with it, what im looking at is well the 8 CA points on my driving record wich make it impossible to have full coverage wich comes with financing a commuter or getting another ticket for getting wild with my car, but if you have any legit pros and cons I would like to hear them because I am still bouncing back and forth on making the swap

Markstang - if your implying a swap I will keep you in mind.

Thanks for all the help!!!
