'65 Interior resto Suggestions!!
Hey everyone, Im currently restoring a 65 GT and most, if not all of the interior parts, (dash, console, door panels, sills, back quarter trim etc..) need to be replaced. I have heard from many people some parts whether OEM or not fit better than others. What companies, or manufacturers do you suggest I purchase from? Which products have you found to have better fitment and finish? Thank you for all of your help!
I have only had a problem with repo kick panels fitting in an almost unusable fashion so far.
But I haven't had to replace too much, replaced my carpet, dash pad, and scuff plates.
Most everything else in my car was fine when I bought it but there are a few minor odds and ends I still need to replace due to just being old and pitted.

I would try to keep original parts, not necessarily your own parts, but original ford parts. Repro crap doesn't fit that great and usually requires a lot of tweaking to fit and even then it is still off. Obviously carpet and other "wear and tear" items need replaced with new parts but try to keep it ford original where you can. Ebay is a good place to look or craigslist too.
I am just finishing up a 65 coupe. I have a whole bunch of misc stuff that I either ordered two of or changed during the build. If you have something you need let me know it will just save me sending it back to where I bought it. I would send small stuff by mail but the big stuff woundnt work well from california. Good luck and have fun!!
