Am i missing something

I was taking a good look at the bottom side of my '66 coupe and i noticed that i could see a part of the gearbox.
Is this normal or am i missing a part ? A made i picture. You can look at it by following the link.

Yeah, it is called the dust plate, or inspection plate. Just make sure you know what trans you have. There are 2 threaded holes in the torque converter (bell) housing that the plate mounts to. Measure the center to center on the holes. C4, c6, FMX, etc. take different plates.
Its common to be missing the inspection plate....I think the most common reason it is missing is if you have a minor leak in the rear main that drips occasionally, when you take long drives it all collects just behind the inspection plate and then when you stop it all leaks out and makes it look like you have a much larger leak than you do
