Hello - New Owner
Hello,
I just helped my girlfriend buy a '66 289 Coupe, and want to introduce myself.
I have a '67 Firebird Convertible that I'm in the middle of restoring, and am a member of a similar Pontiac site. The people on the Pontiac site are the best, and the information is invaluable. It looks like this site is full of great people and invaluable information as well.
A little about the car... We purchased it from the 2nd owner, who works with the original owner. It's a California black plate car, automatic with console, factory air, replacement vintage radio, and has power brakes (with a disc conversion up front). It either has original paint, or a very old respray. The car is relatively rust free, just a couple of spots in the trunk (a new trunk seal is in order).
My girlfriend will use this car as a daily driver, and has about 1-month to get the little things fixed, as she turns in her leased CRV in July. The only big issue with the car is the power brakes don't grab like they should, so we'll need to get them looked at this week.
If there are any Los Angeles members on the forum, and you know a good mechanic in the South Bay, please let me know.
Brant

Welcome to the site!
That sounds like a great pairing of cars. You both should have a lot of fun.
Your new Mustang looks pretty sweet. Glad to see you are taking care of the most important stuff first!

Indeed, welcome to the classic section of MF. We have a few members from Kali. Try to PM Markstang to see if he can point you in the general direction of a mechanic in your area. He lives in LaQuinta. Probably too far away. The paint job obviously needs some TLC. Try getting the three phase waxing system that Maguires offers. They have the cleaner, then the polish, then the wax. These can be bought at just about any parts supply place. I think you will be surprised at how beautiful that mustang will look after you apply some elbow grease. And, don't allow anyone to talk you out of those original California black license plates. Some guys would kill for those.
