Default 1966 rally pac

I am a little confused on what the original rally pac looked like for a 66 V8.
Did the tach go to 6000 or 8000 rpm?
Was the word"ford" or "mustang " printed on the tach?

What company sells the best repo part in your opinion? Thanks Scott

Looking for one-anyone have one for sale?

The '66 "low profile" Rally Pac looked like this:

The 8K tach was for the hipo K-code cars and others got eh 6K tach. AFAIK, there are two companies that make repop units, Scott Drake and Oval Industries. I don't know it they have changed, the I'm pretty sure that the Scott Drake tach hooked up like most tachs, to the negative terminal of the coil (voltage tach). The Oval Industries tach is licensed by Ford and looks and hooks up identical to the original, in series to the positive side of the coil (current driven tach). I have a repop Oval Industries tach that looks identical (though new) as my original RP in another car.

[edit] The '66 Rally Pac said Ford on the tach IIRC and the '65 Rally Pac says Mustang on the tach. Some said 'Rally Pac' between the two pods on the '65 while others said nothing IIRC, dependinding on whether it was factor or add-on. I'm pretty sure that Oval sells them both ways.

[edit2] Just did a search and the '65 RP either had 'Mustang' on the tach with 'Rally Pac' between the pods or 'Ford' on the tach with no writing between the pods.
