Default '65 doors and windows...

Anyone else here have or had windows that get stuck in certain positions? I can get the window up if I wiggle it as I roll, but that will prove difficult to do while driving. I just replaced the little plastic rollers in the track and greased them up hoping this would do the trick, but it's pretty much the same as it was before. I'm also having trouble with the door latch I put in. Everything works, but when you try to open the door from the outside when it's locked, it will get stuck and you have to reach inside the door to move the rods on the latch back into position. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

I can't help you on the door latch, mabe you need new rods or new clips that hold the rod in place, but as far as the window you probably need to lube the regulator and the track that it slides in. That's really about all you have left, the window isn't that complicated so just look over everything thoroughly and you should be set.

By stuck do you mean "slipping" as if maybe some teeth in the regulator are worn or missing? Or is it jammed?

Yeah, I'm thinking a worn out regulator too. On the door latch, try adjusting it better so that it shuts and opens smoothly. You can also adjust the receiver on the door jamb. You can also adjust the entire door at the hinges.

Something else to add to some great advise above. The whole works could just be gummed up from 40+ years of dust and dried up grease.
When I got my '66 it was a total mess inside the doors. I stuffed rags in the bottom of the doors, then sprayed all the mechanical linkages down with Wrench Ease (probably not the best thing to do on rubber stuff!). The next day after it all dried out, I sprayed all the moving parts with this stuff called "Inner Slide Lube". It's real light and doesn't dry out like white grease. Now everything works smooth.
Once done everything should roll up and down real easy. If not look for binding, or like Soaring and Markstang said worn out parts.

Yeah, like many worn parts, it is just a matter of isolation.

Thanks for the advice gang, all she needed was some lubrication. Those windows and doors are as good as new. I have never seen anything that needed lubrication that badly, I guess it's good that I know what to expect now on other less than pefect parts.
