I scored mine with a cutting wheel (a torch would be faster if I had one). Don't use a saw, it will ripple the sheet metal. It's best to use a small wheel to round the corners slightly. Avoid filing edges or you will see every ripple in the paint, especially if it's a dark color. Mine came out perfect and it didn't take long. It's definitely a measure twice and be patient project since you only have one shot. Good luck.

One word, "Plasma". Make a template of the hole and tape it down good, in less than a minute, its done. If you are going the "wiz" wheel method, then a Dremel with the abrasive cutting wheels is the best way. You will go thru several but they will not distort or damage the paint like the larger and thicker air tool wheels (a lot of heat). Use a little masking tape to cover the area that is to be cut and keep a wet sponge close. A "Q-tip" with body color paint will be all that is needed to repair the edge once cut (roll it as you go around and not loaded heavy with paint).

Do you really need a hole?

another option is to buy a step drill and drill about 12 spaced holes. Easy.
