Default 289 to built 302 Progress w/pics

Just dynoed the new motor (engine dyno, water break) on Friday, Oil pan gasket sprung a leak so have to reseal that and then hopefully pick up the motor sometime next week. 302 bored over .030 and balanced.

Torching the old leaf springs off... There were helper springs on there and we had no idea how much tension was on them until we were taking the u-bolts off one side and all of a sudden my buddies hand was pinned on the garage floor by the impact wrench with the car leaning towards that side...... scared the crap out of me.

New motor minus the carb (not in pic Holly 600cfm)

Can't wait to put everything back together..

Whoops forgot to post some dyno numbers.. from 4000 - 5900 325hp / 350 tq on a carb they had just sitting around at the shop (my new carb was supposed to be here today....)

Thanks guys. Yea, I love those heads, port and polished the FR intake mani.

Just picked up a 8.8 Ford rear end with 31 spline, 3.73s, and traction-lok today for 275, going to take a little work to make it fit though...
