Default Front Tires

Have any of you guys tried 26x10R15s on the front? I have 26x8.5R15s right now and they clear fine, but I thought I would ask how wide you guys have tried.

The Tire section is almost worthless for classics so I thought I would post this here. FYI, this is for a 69.

couldnt you measure the clearance room you have with what you have, crank the tires to the side and get an idea?

maybe dodgestang.com has it listed. i have no ideas about 69s and even less about such tyre sizes.

I do not see anything that big on dodgestang's site. It would be like the equivalent of a 245/60R15 on the front. Unfortunately, MT does not make anything in between a 8.5 and 10 wide in a 26". Just curious if anyone had tried it.

I 'think' the bulge combined with the height might be an issue its going to be 26.6 inches tall roughly. I run a 245 40 17 on the front of my 65, I had to increase the - camber but I managed to get them on without rolling the fenders and the 69 is larger up front, however, my tire is onlyh about 24.7 tall.

That is what I have on the front of mine, 245/40/17 and it clears the fenders, haven't road tested yet. I did roll the fenders only because it was easy to do before paint. Mine is a 67. I won't try anything bigger or wider that what I have. Not sure the differences in the clearances between 67's and 69's. Probably close to the same if I had to guess.

MT makes their tires in both bias ply and radial configurations depending. What I have on there right now are bias ply, but thinking about trying some MT radials. I would love a little bigger foot print up front, but don't want interference.

My current tire size on the front is 27 tall and 8.3 wide. I have no clearance issues. Not sure about the 26.1 tall by 10.3 wide though...
