yes. but is 2.78:1 really what you want?
highway cruising only gearing that is. It will be very nice with long gears and very good on gas mileage, but your signature looks like you're more looking for w wheelspin ?!

there are better pics with the auction. the posted one is blurry:

That is not a limited slip unit, it is an open differential. The ring bolts are not recessed into the differential.

This is a limited slip unit

you might be on to something. The gears that make it an open unti could be sitting in the inside of the carrier. And both of them have that straight pin on the inside (limited slip and open). Sorry so if I gave wrong info

I'd stay away from it anyway (2.8:1)

ha, this is the second time he listed this unit. first time he said it was a Limited slip now he removed it.the gear didnt matter, as i have the same gearing now but finding a limited slip can get expensive.

thanks guys!

ya. he probably didn't know. sold it and the buyer gave it back to him saying it's an open rear. easiest way to check is when you have it in your hand :-) or the knowledge of snorulz

That is an open diff, but it looks like he tried to take the pictures from angles that make it hard to tell. I have a new limited slip 9" pumpkin, 28 spline with 3.89 gears for sale if you are interested.

I saw that one on eBay and asked the seller to verify that it was a LSD. He came back and said he didn't think it was. This was just before the auction ended. I see the relisting doesn't say limited slip anymore.
