Thumbs down SEND HELP OR BEER!!!!

I have run into some type of American made Chinese torture when it comes to replacing the spring for my accelerator pedal.

The problem is I have never seen one installed so I have ZERO clue on where and how the spring sits on the bolt and pedal. Any type of picture and/or diagram (or Beer) would help me out tremendously.

Do I install the spring first then the bolt or the other way around?

I would just leave the pedal loose but it just bothers me too much

Thanks ahead of time guys!

Bolt, through first tab on the pedal, into accelerator pedal rod, through spring, through second tab on the pedal. Tighten and the screw threads into the accelerator pedal rod. Before you do this, take a look at the spring. You will notice that one leg is straight and the other leg has a hook built in. Place the spring so the straight leg is pointing up and the spring is not in tension, just hanging loose. Once the screw is installed, pull the bottom leg up so the hook slips over and engages the accelerator pedal rod, puting the spring in tension and pushing the top of the pedal out. You may need to mock it up a couple of times until you see exactly what I am saying. It is easier to do it than decribe how to do it!

When you say through the spring, you mean through the middle loop of the spring?

Does the spring get bent or torqued at all?

Did I mention I would give my right arm for any type of pictures!

(here is a pic of the spring im working with http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/65-66...Q5fAccessories)

I used the search and pulled this up. Looks like it was posted before the new page format. Does anyone have these pictures or any pictures of their own. Thanks

Check out this explanation. I've never replaced one myself. It sounds like it's an aggravating cuss.

Good luck!
