Default 67 Rocker Panel Moulding

I just received new rocker panel mouldings from Mustangs Plus. They seem to be very high quality, but they did not come with any instructions, only a bag of plastic clips and pop-rivets. I installed the clips in the same manner as the original ones were installed, but I cannot figure out how to install the moulding onto the clips. There is a small tab located at the bottom and top of each clip. These tabs are touching the car, so I cannot get the moulding around the tab. The original service manual didn't provide much help. Thanks!

The clip.

Start with the top, the molding should slide right on top and you snap in the bottom with a slight pull.

Did you use the basic repop or the Stainless steel?

I forgot the Stainless does not bend. This could be his problem

I would reuse the originals if I still had them. The plastic replacments are well, you know. Anyway, thats just how it is with the "repop" stuff (except its usually made overseas).

wait, are you saying the original clips are steel or the mouldings themselves? And I can't slide the moulding behind the top tab, I can't even force a screwdriver between the car body and the tab on the clip. Do I maybe have the clips on backwards? It seems like everyone else had a much easier time with this, I must be doing something wrong. Thanks!

no, they are on right. Try and pop one on. Line it up and use some light presure and have someone hold the front and start with the back. Dont hit it too hard becuase they love to dent.
