Default Hood Mounted Tach

A few days ago someone mentioned having a hood mounted tach on their car. The idea sounds pretty interesting, but for the life of me I cannot find the thread! Also what would be a good start to such a project. I remember seeing hood tachs on some early firebirds and whatnot but I am wondering if such a setup would look very nice on a mustang. Pics anyone?

Check out this thread, and here's some pics. I think they look cool. You will pay several hundred to over a thousand dollars for an original, but they do make a repro that in my opinion is kinda cheesy.

Ya just does't look right on a Mustang. I do have a buddy of mine who did something different by putting them on the outside mounted to the cowl grille area with the chrome casings. I think he put like 2 or 3 guages on the outside of the car. Looked pretty sharp.

Another interesting idea is to run a cowl hood and put gauges on the cowl under the hood.
