Its been a year since we disassembled the car & I don't remember what got screwed in here. It's the hole (threaded) at the top of the door pillar engine side & on both driver & passenger pillars.

That is for the upper fender brace. It looks like a 90 degree bracket that bolts there and then to the fender.

Thanks... upper fender brace sounds correct & I'll have to search around for the bracket.

vescotech is correct. theres a bracket that welds to the cowl and a bolt through into the fender.

There was never a bracket that was welded to the cowl and bolted to the fender on our 67. Here is a shot from way back Feb 08. Only the fenders removed, nothing cut from the cowl. The 1/4" threaded hole is seen by the upper door hinge. I'll have to look at the fenders tomorrow and find the bracket.

the braket might be still on the fender.

and i know a while ago when i was stripping my car, i accidently knocked my bracket off, so when i get my fenders back on in the right spot, ill reweld a bracket on.

actually i just looked at the original picture, THAT hole is for a splash shield.

the bracket we were talking about welds on by the drain hole on the cowl.

vescotechwas correct. This was for the small fender brace that bolts to the car here and extends up/outwards. To fasten the fender to the brace you run the bolt from the door forward into the brace. Thanks for the replies.

The splash shields are located almost a foot forward from this hole by the firewall.
