I offer 3 options for early Mustang, all Ford OE based. All of them, including the Granada SWAP, have parts available from parts stores and from us. Our Granada spindles are manufactured in 2 versions, for 67-73 and 65-66 Mustang.

There is an obvious and important difference between cheap and inexpensive. SSBC and others can demand high list prices because they have established a brand presence through advertising, presence at shows, and by establishing an extensive dealer network. None of these things are relevant to the quality of their product. Dealers carry their kits because they are assured a profit in selling them.

SSBC sells the 65-66 Mustang KH based kit for $995 (A120D). They sell to end users, but only at that cost. They sell to dealer at a much lower cost. I have put a lot of effort into making our parts, or sourcing them directly from manufacturers, not dealers. I offer the same kit configuration with slotted rotors, adjustable pushrod, greases, and thread lockers. The big difference is that I offer this kit to end users directly, at or lower than SSBC's dealer cost. Mustang parts dealers have no incentive to carry our products since I can't offer them a large enough discount to compete against our pricing.

Many forum users have purchased our kits. I wager that those who have compared our product with the A120D kit fromn SSBC have been favorably impressed and would not describe our product as cheap.

No, I wouldn't call it cheap I was (and still am) very happy with the overall quality of the OE KH-style kit.

I need to buy a disc brake kit soon because my rubber hoses are starting to crack. I am just not sure what company to go with I have a v8 65 mustang.

Brakes depend a lot of what size wheel you want to use and your budget.Only way id ever change spindles is for the 70-73 ones they are the thickest and the brakes look just like the Granada set up.But best bang for the buck is the cobra brake set up you need 17s to clear them tho.

That old quote is a deceptive claim made by retailers who put profit above value. Sam Walton has proved it wrong!

What are you talking about? Carquest carries Granada calipers for a meer 45$ a set! Advanced Auto has them cheaper, but they are indeed "cheaper"...

I'm talking about the OE KH-style kit. KH calipers for 65-67 cars are EXPENSIVE. My computer here at Napa retails them at something like $275, and they're R&R only iirc. Most Mustang wherehouses sell them for $225+, with the core being worth more than the actual part.

I too am nearing that point in my project. I plan on using 17 x 8 Bullitt Take offs. I have seen a kit offered by scarebird. Anyone have info on that. I need to save a few bucks so any info would be great. Still want to stop though!

I don't trust scarebird the brackets look too thin and the welds on them look like crap. And they mix match parts like s10 calipers and ranger rotors.I wouldn't use there stuff.

For the money, I think the CSRP is the best bang for the buck. You get OE-style parts that are guaranteed to fit at a great price.

That said, newbie, you might want to think about Mustang Steve's Cobra brake kit since you're going with 17" wheels. Not terribly expensive, and it'll fill the wheels better (and stop better) than stock sized brakes.
