I drool everytime I see Dan66's signature pictures. Yep a '66 GT is a special car, and one that, done correctly is a great investment.
Another way to look at this, is to have it professionally appraised. If you can pick it up for less than the appraisal, then be very careful on any expenditures to stay ahead of the curve, you could always bail out and not loose much.

I didn't get the chance to go and visit the gentleman who has the 66 for sale this weekend. He wound up getting called in to judge a show when another guy from our club got sick. I am in Mexico on business until Thursday and have tickets to the US Open at Pinehurst on Friday so it will be next Saturday before I get a chance to see it. I will take some digitals and report back. Thanks again for all the input.
