Default 160 tooth flywheel

im currently in the process of rebuilding my 66 mustang (v8, automatic, 4 barrel, c4 transmission) and just recently picked up a new flywheel. it seemed to line up okay until further instepction i noticed it was off in some places. the new one i got was 157 tooth, 28 oz. and upon counting the teeth on the old one found it had 160 teeth. why are there 160 teeth (i counted twice to make sure i wasnt off)? is it from an older car? the part number on the old one is c4ae-6375-B or 8-assy. the engine had been rebuilt in the past, maybe someone put the wrong one on there? is the 157 tooth flywheel the right one for my car? thanks.

Yes for a 289 with a C4, the 157 tooth flywheel is the correct one. The bell housing should have 6 bolts to hook up to the engine, and the starter should have two bolts.
