Default c4 filter change

When doing a filter change on a c4 in a 66 mustang do I need to use silicone or anything on the pan or just the gasket the kit comes with?

I looked in the shop manual but didn't see any details about changing it. Oh what do I need to torque the bolts to as well.

Just the gasket, you don't need any other sealer.

you arent supposed to need silicone.

the filters now a days are better then the originals and will use the trans fluid to expand/seal better (basic explination)

take two seconds and pick up a small drain plug from your local parts store and drill the pan, so you don't have to deal with the mess the next time you do this. you'll understand what I'm saying after you're done...

I just changed the filter and fluid in my 66 C4, I installed the the gasket dry and I torqued the filter to 40 Inch Lbs, and I torqued the pan to 12 Ft Lbs.
