Default door wont open.

It has been several years since i opened the passenger door on my 67. This past weekend, I started cleaning out the interior to start the work on the floor boards, and cowl.

The passenger door will not open. the button on the outside handle presses in, the lock can be moved up and down, but it wont unlock/open. I have not taken the interior door panel off yet to see if its clearly accessible to fix. Can anyone give me some tips, advise on how to fix this, at least its the passenger door, I could just ask my passengers (when it gets back on the road) to Bo and Luke Duke it.

It is possible that over the years the rubber weather seal has melted or fused the door to the body.

Try this; sit in the passenger side, pull the handle and give the door a good push. Make sure though that if the car comes open, that it will not swing out and hit something.

The locks on my coupe would seem like they would unlock but usually didn't on the first try. You would have to push them back down and pull them up again a few times before they would actually unlock. So make sure the doors are really unlocked. Take the panel off and make sure all the rods are still connected.

Like stangtjk said it could be that its not actually unlocked. Mine does the same thing with the key from the outside the lock would go up and it would look to be unlocked but I have to push it up and down a couple times before it actually unlocks.

Be sure to lube up the mechanisms. I believe it is graphite for locks, yes?
