Default Rear Spring Choice - Help

I'm getting ready to order new leafs for my 68 289 convertible. This is my wifes car, but my project! Car is very original (the way she likes it) so during my rehab I've been keeping it very original. I'm going to be running 14" styled steels. Front coils are stock and I believe I saw an invoice (I've got most all the repair history on this one) where they were replaced about 15 years ago. Rear leafs are original and I've got big time sag.

I would like car to be basically level. Any ideas on what springs to go with? 4 leaf, what eye position? Thanks for your help.

Thanks,
Craig

dont feel too sorry for me, I've got a 94 f150 thats my toy and I'm building a 5.0 for it now.

Just ask for standard replacement leaf springs. They'll probably be standard eye, standard duty, 4-leafs.

Default Eaton Springs

I just replaced mine with Eaton springs. They use all the correct factory specifications. One caution...keep your original axle alignment pins---the ones on my new springs were too short. Simple remedy..they screw out of the to spring so you can simply swap out the news one for them. This keeps in line with the restorer's motto NEVER THROW ANYTHING AWAY!!!!!

I'd recommend going with some stock replacement GT springs. A little more firm than standard springs, but nothing that's going to rattle your teeth out. NPD and Glazier's both use OE springs suppliers, so you're assured to get the right spring. Can't say the same for other parts houses.

I probably should have clarified a little more, I'm actually more interested where the ride height ends up and less so about the ride or handling. Rarely will anyone ride in the back and believe me, this car wont be taking any hard corners.

So standard oem replacements will give me about level ride height?
Starfury, how about the GT, how did your ride height come out?
