Default Mufflers

I will build an exhaust system and can not decide for me what muffler which I shall purchase. Can I get some tips? Will be in 2.5" with H-pipe.

Would prefer to run with the sidepipes, so they should dampen the sound effectively.

Check out youtube or muffler manufacturer websites for sound clips of different mufflers. That said, I really don't like side-exhaust (or dumps) unless it's a Shelby/clone with glasspacks. Side exit exhaust is loud, annoying, and dumps exhaust fumes out right next to the cab.

Check out you tube of for different exhaust setups. Whatever you do get you some long tube headers. Don't make the mistake I did and put reagular cheap exhaust manifold gaskets on your headers though. I just changed my gaskets to good header gaskets and my car has never sounded better.

Here's a link to a video/sound clip of mine. 302 w/stock exhaust manifold, duals, and no crossover. I went with magnaflows to get a little deeper, quieter rumble than Flowmasters. I've been very pleased.

Wow, those 44s are quieter than I thought they would be. With a 3" exhaust that sounds great!
