engine flooded or .....

maybe it really was flooded and from the time you spent making this thread, all the gas evaporated and now its fine ?

Yep, I'm on board with you too Kalli. I made this point several times over the months of 2008. There is a distinct difference between not cranking and not starting.
The non-technically inclined folks really need to learn the difference.

THANK YOU! this worked after I tried my “70s/1980s era“ attempts for what seemed like a flooded engine. And it saved me in time to avoid a street sweeping ticket.

car started; I re-parked for a moment and when I tried re-starting again 30-sec later it did not catch after first mini-catch. I continued to let it crank for a longer than usual. Then waited then tried again, then tried with pumping gas. No catch.

I was parked up hill (perhaps the angle played a part)

I signed up just post this in the hopes it helps another.
