You can make your own, 1K is not that bad. I charge just over that to do a whole car, headlights to tail lights.

I have the painless yet to install. It's actually next on mine list as I am collecting battery garb to do along with it. I paid around $700 for mine from summit. It is made for the 67-68 mustang. Not sure about the price for the 65-66's though. I was looking over the kit and it comes with about everything needed. Everything is marked and terminated. Looks like it will be pretty easy to do. It even comes with a new gauge harness.

Thumbs up Painless all the way.

i just completed my mustang using a painless kit. i spent about 700 on it and belive me it was the best investment of my life. im 19 now and have never wired anything besides speakers for my car. i descided to go wth the kit because it would have cost me 1k to 2k to have some other guy do it. long story short. i learned alot, saved alot and it was very easy. the people at painless tech. support are also very nice and easy to understand. a few tips. TAKE YOUR TIME (walk away when needed), keep your old wires for pickin through and ref. , invest in some better connectors / tools, and get a good volt meter. other wise it was really fun/ easy and you will know your cars wiring 100% when your done. Hope this helps man, good luck and like i said TAKE YOUR TIME.

I think theT Ron Fransis has a better sysem than painless. the big drawback is where to mount the fuse box and the instructions are not the best. http://www.ronfrancis.com/prodinfo.asp?number=XP%2D67
