Awesome, thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. This engine isnt going to be running any time soon, hopefully by 2010 though. I am just starting the tear down and wanted to be sure I had all the parts to put it back together. Sadly I am missing this one. Do any of you guys know what 351w had a shallow front sump pan on them?

Shallow? They are either front or rear sump in stock form. Aftermarket pans may have more capacity and can be shallow or deep.

I know that there are differences in pans for different models. When I went to the local parts store they asked me if it was a shallow or deep pan. I guess the length of the pick up differs as well depending on the depth of the pan itself? I'm not sure, I told them shallow, I thought it was odd as well. We will find out today though.

What they mean by shallow is "stock". Deep is just that, deep and most are 7 qrts or more.

So yesterday I got the new pump pick up for my engine. It was the wrong one. It was shaped for a rear sump pan and didn't fit. Today I am going to the wrecking yard and am hoping to find a 351w out of a passenger car. What models had a front sump pan and a 351 in them? I know some of the LTDs did, but I am unsure if there were any others.
