If I remember correctly you can cut them to the correct width however you cannot cut to height. Also, you can't fold the strips as the wires in the center of each strip are easily damaged.

The number of elements (lines) can't be changed, but you can change the spacing between them. So if I used a nine-element system (which is 13" high) and reduced the spacing, I could use two of them, squeezing one on the top half and one on the bottom. Might look a little crowded though....

Wow, this forum is so much better than the one I used to use.... people actually respond to questions. Either way, thank you everyone for the insightful remarks, I didn't even think about those rear window heating strips. Now that I think about it, those would be much cleaner looking and functionally more efficient. I am running a 100 amp alternator so I think i'll be ok on power use. rst08tierney, my car is a daily driver and is actually the only car I own. I've had it for 7 years.

Is there a problem with putting window tinting over the heating strips?

Check out their FAQ page. It sounds like they don't work too well with tinting, but it can be done.
