Default Hydraulic Clutch

So i have been looking at hydraulic clutch setups lately and i am not sure how they work. I am converting my car to a t5 but i am using the stock bellhousing with an adapter plate. I know that the stock clutch disengages when the pivot arm is pushed to the rear of the car, but all the hydraulic clutch kits i see look like they push the pivot arm towards the front of the car. Is that because the kits i have seen are being used with a late model 5.0 bellhousing?

I would like to run a hydraulic clutch, but its looking like my only option is to custom build something or use a hydraulic throw out bearing

any thoughts?

You are correct. It would be easier to use a late model belhousing and usea standard kit but some of the hyd clutch kits offer a hyd release bearing that might work in your application

There are currently no cable or hydraulic clutch setups out there for push type early bell t5 mods.

Someone know of any?

They're a couple of companys making a hyd release bearing for t5. I wouldn't think the belhousing type would matter but I'm not sure

Call Mike Forte at Forte's Parts Connection. He is in MA and will fix you right up. His number is (508) 875-0016.

Well I was hoping to try to find the pic to give some ideas. but I know the slave was a Wilwood, and it was setup to pull. So you should be able to find something from there. sorry, that's all I got.

i have looked at several different setups and i cant decide if i want to use a push type slave cylinder and make a bracket to mount in front of the pivot arm or use a pull type cylinder and mount it behind the pivot arm

either way would work, i would just have to get the engine and trans in the car and see which would be easier to fabricate

or just use a hydraulic throw out bearing

Lots of discussion, but I've yet to see a viable application.

There was an example on MustangSteve's site once about using a cable and then building a bellcrank that would pull from the aft.
