Hi all,

my car's a 1964 1/2 and originally came with a 6cylinder (U-code VIN).
before I bought it the seller gas changed over to a 289 from 1966 (late. 6 bolt bellhousing).
Now I'm planning to drop a 1972 302 in there. Will the mounts that I currently have fit ?

Since there's already a 66 289 in there I guess I should be good if I don't need to change between 66 289 and 72 302.

Anyone any idea ?

All 289/302/351W/351C blocks use the same mount designs What you've got will work fine.

That said, inspect them for any cracks/separation. Replace if necessary while you have everything apart.

Kalli, please be aware there's two different mounts in the early V8 cars, the NPD catalog has a good illustration of the differences. good luck.

 

thanks for letting me know. knowing they mounts on engine being all the same makes it easy to choose just the same one again
