AOD TV cable adjustment
I have the 4100. I didn't use the tool to measure mine, but trial and error. No tension on the cable ruins the transmission. Too much makes the throttle too touchy and the car downshift too easily. So I put too much tension on the cable then backed it off until I was happy.
But this is not the right way but better than leaving the cable slack.

I need to adjust mine on the Bronco. It will hardly downshift.

FYI, I adjusted the TV cable on my 88 Bronco AOD last night. Since the tranny was installed, it would not downshift unless I REALLY mash the pedal. I moved it about two teeth or a 1/16" so that I had to just stretch the cable just a little to hook it up. I then went for a test drive and it shifted MUCH better. Do not be scare of tweaking this cable, but it sounds like it is better to be slightly too tight (quicker downshift) that slightly too loose and have it trash the tranny.
