How much do the pullers usually run? Not that I plan on doing this too often, but I always like having the "right" tools.

Thanks for the advice on the cross brace, I just wanted to make sure.

Where did you get a 5lb? All I could find is 4lb. It seemed to jump from 4lb to the big 8lb, full sledge hammers. Not that I'm complaining, it worked.

An individual ball joint separator will run $40-100, depending on how nice it is and where you get it from. Ideally you get a full suspension puller/separator shop set, but that'll set you back several hundred, if not over $1k.
