Default Color

Need some help choosing a paint color. Going to keep the mustang for time being and going to get it repainted, but don't know what color.

It has to be a shade of red, would like to see some metallic also. Going to have original exterior so I need something that would look good like that.

Cool Check out SW/ Barrett Jackson's Planet Color colors

Hey there,

I am also browsing the paint market for my 68. I was giving some advice to look at the new Sherwin Williams / Barrett Jackson color line. They are supposed to be pretty cool colors http://www.planetcolor.com/products/

Good luck.

I'm going to buy it from Sherwin Williams Automotive. We have one about 2 miles from the house and paint for a whole car is about $150. Dad bought a color called Bright Red for his truck and it is nice. Might just buy it and have them darken it some for me.

as far as red's go, the darker the better...simply because dark colors will make the chrome trim pop more so than a light color. shades of maroon look really nice in a metallic too

dodgestang's car is a nice example

Vintage Burgundy. 1967 Color Code X, number 50669 on the PPG/Ditzler paint chips. Looks nice and is a factory year correct color for your car. (Here's another that shows it a bit darker. Probably just down to the color balancing/lighting on the shots. Same color. I assume it's probably closer to this one in person.)

Here's the Rangoon Red 1965Fastback suggested. It's a 64/65 color, Color Code J for those years, number 71234 on the PPG/Ditzler paint chips.
