Nothing right now, like I said before, Im not looking for a drag setup but more for a road race, so handleing is key, and was wondering if you might have any suggestions. I took off the stock rear end.

My mom told me I have to get the car out of the garage, shes tired of all the car parts. So I have to basically find a way to move the whole car, without a rear end, about 3 miles, to a shop a friend of mine owns.

What do you mean by road race ? You mean SCCA track meets, Trans Atlantic, Sports Car Tracks, what tpye of road racing do you mean ? The only thing I can picture with 750 HP & Tubbed is a 1/4 Mile Pro-Street Car. Please explain yourself a little better.

Sorry, the setup I want would be more for the American Iron race series, so yes the SCCA. I want to be able to handle my car better than a euro. sports car. But at the same time I want to be drive it on the road and not have issues. Ive never been a fan of drag racing only because you race for 12 sec and its over.

I realize that the setup Im trying for is pretty stupid, because of high horspower typically means less street drivabilty. But after seeing this website, I got interested in this style. But I dont know if I would actually take it to the track to actually race, but instead to goof around.

The only thing I can fathom with that much HP being pumped to the rear is a 9" 31 Spline Detroit Locker. And get some gears in the mid 350's if it is road racing and not drag.
What else could he use 1970Mach1?

Total control products has a rearend setup made specifically for thier racecar, the only problem I have with that setup is the fact that the watts link is underneath the axel, so i were to hit a pothole just right on the road, it could snap it off.

A 9" sounds good, but why do you sday to mid 350s gears, Inever really understood that. I see drag setups using 4.10s, and road useing 3.55s and lower. Does that allow for higher speeds ovre acceleration?

Yeah, the higher the number, the faster at take off, but you lose top end.

thats what i figured, Ive seen gear ratio charts before where you enter HP, torque, speed. and it gives you a ratio you should use. or something like that.
