Default Rear Sub-frame Rails

Im just curious, how would you remove the rear sub frame rails on a '66 coupe. I'm looking to put in some wide rims, and I dont want the wheels to exceed he side of the car. Im also going to widen the rear fenders, inner and outer.

Cut the frames & metal out with a plasm cutter if you can get one, it is so much quicker and cleaner using a plasm cutter. Then contact Summit Racing or your vender of choice & get a tubbing kit this is a lot cleaner install than trying to tub it yourself. If you are going to do this do a little research on how your going to hook up your rearend 5 link is a good way to go.

Yeah, I priced a plasma cutter one time. No way, Jose. Maybe they can be rented?

Prolly need sub frame connectors too. It sounds like you are going to pumping some serious HP to that rear.

It's so nice to work for goverment agency. I just barrowed one of the several plasm cutters from the heavy vehicle repair garage. It only took 2 days to remove firewall, floorpans, all wheelwells, trunkpans, and all unibody supports. A total of 12 hours in 2 days to make a bear shell body. The first time I did a body it took 2 months of hard work using torches, die grinders, saws, and any other tool I could get my hands on. Plasm cutter is like pointing your finger and it cuts clean, with very little grinding afterward. It was some real fun using it, except for putting out fires in my hair & clothing. lol

Wow!, what do you have for a power plant, a beefed up Cammer?
