Default Rear Window Louver - 71/73 Mach

Has anyone found a good aftermarket rear window louver for their 71/73 Mach's? I've doon a lot of searching but haven't had any good luck yet.

What I was hoping to find was the kind that attached directly to the glass & required no drilling. I found one but it was a 2-part unit. Never seen a 2-parter before.

Thanks!

I would like to stay with the stock look but I'm not sure I can afford that. From what I can the NOS had hinges that screwed into the roof just above the back glass. I was trying to avoid drilling but may yet have to.

I have seen the kind where the upper hinge glues to the top of the glass. This looked pretty good. I couldn't find out where it came from though since it was on the car when she got it.

I looked at MustangsUnlimited and that's where I found the one I mentioned in my post and you were good enough to post, that was a 2-piece unit. I had called MU to make sure & the guy went & looked and verified it was really 2-pieces. I think that would look pretty crappy on the car. If it works the same as on my friends car, when opening the trunk it will hit the edge of the louver. She has to lift the bottom of the louver to open the trunk. I'm afraid mine would also hit it and since it opened in the middle, it would cause major problems.

Aside from looking good, the rear louver will keep lots of sun/heat out of the car. No A/C!!!

I'll keep looking around. And I'll post anything if I find it. The Mu louvers would look crappy.

I realize that you dont want to do any drilling but for a more permanent upgrade, I think it would be worth it in the end.

I've spent a lot of time trying to find something and have pretty much come up empty as far as something reasomably priced anyway. I'm still working on it though!

I would be happy if I could find something close MU's price of $219 even if I had to drill. Like you said, it would probably be a more permanent solution to drill than to glue.

I wish I would have known a few years ago. I ditched mine so that I could see a little better out the back glass. The only thing I have left is a fold down seat.

Yeah, I guess the demand isn't quite there yet for the 71/73 years & also why the ones that are cost so much. ARGHHHH

Thats the story of my life! Always find out things like that when it's too late!

How did yours attach to your car? Was it a NOS?

Seeing out the back as well as the sides is a big pain in the a** !!!

Guess we need to go as fast as we can so we don't have to worry about who is beside or even behind us.

What color is your extra fold down seat?
