Default T5 Bolts Torque Specs

I'm hopefully going to be doing my swap this week and I still have one thing I haven't been able to figure which torque specs to use for the flywheel and such.

I'm using the t5 bellhousing and going to the modern 10.5" clutch. Do I use the torque specs for the flywheel, clutch and bellhousing that are laid out in the Ford service manual or do I need to use t5 specifications.

I'm thinking that I would use the specifications for the car but if someone coule confirm this it would be appreciated, thanks.

Also I can still use the original speedo cable right? Just have to get a new gear.

Hiya!
i don't see any reason on why the torque specs should be different.
Flywheel to crank is still flywheel to crank. no matter what gearbox. the same applies for clutch to flywheel and bellhousing to engine.

my original speedo cable fitted perfectly (mine was a 3spd manual) and for me there was no need to change the gear either. i calculated what speeds i should do at 2500 rpm lets say in 4th and 5th gear and that matched exactly what my speedo showed.

since I'm installing flywheel and clutch this week as well, what are the specs listed in ford shop manual. can't find mine at the moment.
further on some engines you need to use blue loctite on the flywheel to crank bolts as they might be drilled through and you'd weep oil through there otherwise

Remicks, what tranny did you have in there originally? If it was a C4 or 3sp, you'll be able to reuse your speedo cable (although likely with a different gear). If it was a 4sp, you'll need to get another one. The 4sp speedo gear is too short, and the gear spins the opposite direction.

also if its was an auto car he need to get flywheel bolts instead of the flexplate bolts as they are too short

Thanks, that's what I figured. I was just looking for some confirmation because I was a little unsure and it's a big deal to get right

And the torque specs look right, I'll just make sure to double check them with my factory service manual when doing the install.

My tranny is currently the 3sp. Just another thing I wanted to double check with people who knew and did it before. When I was doing my own research I was getting conflicting answers and nothing exactly clear. Also I went out and checked the gear in the trans right now and its the yellow 18 tooth gear which should be fairly accurate right now. And I'll be changing it out later down the road when my friend finally mails me my 3.80 gears, whenever that happens, someday.

Thanks for the help again guys. Gives me a little more confidence doing this swap, hopefully everything will go well this weekend. I'll be doing the swap at a friends house in San Miguel while he welds in my new passenger front floor.

Maybe with this done I'll finally be willing to tackle the grade with it.
