determining original options
another amateur question... thanks for everyones patience while i ask these questions. i've found this forum to be a wealth of knowledge and i appreciate everyones assistance they have provided me over my short time here so far. i use the search feature as much as i can but a lot of my questions end up requiring a new thread. i was wondering if it's possible for me to tell what the original options were on my car like paint color, interior color, wheels, and misc interior options such as AC. i'm really curious what's original and what's been restored.
ive seen some data sheats online that has all that information, what year is your car?
edit: oh i see its a 66
something like this i guess

thats just a vin decoder but they are out there somewhere. that site has good info though

Look for the original build sheet in amongst the dash wiring, sometimes people don't throw them out when they find them
also
Post the info from the door warranty plate then I will decode what was original

If you're willing to pay for the information, you should get a Marti Report for your car

Correct me if I am wrong, but Marti reports with details on options not included on the data plate are only available for 67+ Mustangs. I think the records of options such as A/C, PS, PB, etc were lost for the early Mustangs long ago.
I think you are out of luck getting specific info on your 66 other than what is on the door data plate.

Yeah, no dice on the Marti report. The only way you're going to know for sure is from the VIN and warranty plate info, and if you can find the build sheet somewhere in the car. Sometimes its taped to the dash wiring harness, sometimes its under the back seat.
