Export Brace Reinforcement?

Why would you have to weld it in? That only makes it permanent or a PITA to remove if you ever need to.

You weld the L-stock to the cowl, not the export brace. Welding the reinforcement plate to the cowl stabilizes everything, making the entire assembly stronger.

Anybody install the reinforcement from NDP in a '69 Mustang? Did it need to be trimmed because there is a hump on the firewall that interferes with the reinforcement.
